The Workspace includes three tabs: Data, Analysis, and About while the Resources and Support include featured workspaces and the User Support Hub.

The All of Us Researcher Workbench is the secure, cloud-based platform where you can access and analyze the All of Us dataset. Within the Researcher Workbench, there are multiple tools available to support you in querying, wrangling, and analyzing the data.

Workspaces

Workspaces are where you build and analyze your dataset. Each workspace has three main tabs: Data, Analysis, and About.

  • Under the Data tab, you can use the Cohort Builder to select participants based on specific criteria and use the Dataset Builder to select values of interest (concepts) that you are interested in researching in your cohort.
  • Under the Analysis tab, you can perform queries and analyses using integrated cloud-based analysis tools, including Jupyter Notebook, RStudio, and SAS Studio with programming languages R, Python, and SAS.
  • Under the About tab, you can view your workspace description, which provides an overview of your research purpose, scientific approach, anticipated findings, and more.

Resources and support

The Researcher Workbench also includes helpful resources for you via Featured Workspaces and the User Support Hub.

Featured workspaces are workspaces designed to provide examples of cohorts, concept sets, datasets, and data analyses that can support you during your research journey. There are four types of featured workspaces: tutorial workspaces, demonstration projects, phenotype library, and community workspaces.

Support resources are integrated within the Researcher Workbench, and you can connect with our support team via email. Our User Support Hub also provides a wealth of knowledge about getting started in the Researcher Workbench, understanding the data structure, wrangling data for analysis, and more.

You can also connect with fellow Researcher Workbench users through the Community, which is a community forum for users to connect, ask questions, and collaborate on research projects.
