The All of Us research program collects structured family history information from participants via the Family Medical History Participant Provided Information (PPI) module. More information about this survey can be found on the AoU Research Hub [https://www.researchallofus.org/data-sources/survey-explorer/]. Additionally, participants may provide their electronic health record (EHR) data for research if they enrolled through a participating Health Provider Organization, completed the Basics survey, and agreed to share their EHR by signing a HIPPA Authorization for Research form. EHRs also contain valuable family history information, but in a non-structured format.
In this notebook, to evaluate data in the All of Us program, we use descriptive statistics to perform exploratory analysis of the family history availability in EHR and survey data.
